Emergency Medical Services

Midland is very fortunate to have local Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Sixteen active EMTs and nine lay drivers are on 24-hour call. They are all non-paid volunteers. In October of 1995, licensing was granted and the ambulance was purchased.

The basic services consist mainly of responding to accidents and calls for assistance. They also transfer patients between hospitals when needed. The ambulance is fully equipped and includes an automatic defibrillator with a 3-lead module, making it possible to do an ECG as the patient is being transported to the hospital. A pulse meter will be added soon to show blood oxygen level.

Midland EMS operates entirely on donations and regular charges for runs traveled. Thanks, EMTs, for being there when we need you!
