Not wanting to waste all of their time
They come where hunting is the best
Where draws and prairies work together
To form the Midland wilderness
It's here the big ones all migrate
To find the doe to raise their fawn
And dance in all the Haakon County Highways
At night when traffic is coming along
Bucks smash their antlers in a vicious fight
As the hunters all roll into town
To find one they can deem a "keeper"
And then that sucker is going down
A whitetail buck or a giant muley
The rush of what they’re about to find
Prey the next is the biggest ever
And stands this side of the property line
Some eat the liver to celebrate
That's too hard-core to be done by all
But they all have one thing in common
They're comming back again next fall
Of course, deer aren't the only wildlife to be found. Antelope, grouse, ducks, and pheasants roam free in the
praries and fields.
Local dams are also stocked with a variety of fish.
